What Are Residential Treatment Programs?
Residential treatment, also known as inpatient, is the highest and most intensive level of alcohol and drug addiction treatment available after medical detox. At this level of care, patients stay onsite at our facility and have round-the-clock access to medical professionals – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
We want our patients to feel at home when they are in our care, which is why our state-of-the-art facilities are outfitted with comfortable furnishings, plenty of amenities, and a culinary team that can cater to any dietary requests.
In terms of treatment, patients will find a team of compassionate therapists available to them through their residential addiction program. We take a holistic approach to rehab, and patients will found that our treatment programs include an array of group and individual-based therapies. Take your pick of traditional cognitive behavioral therapy and relapse prevention to a variety of therapy modalities in including creative arts, anger management, relapse prevention, and more.
Is Residential Treatment Right For Me?
Inpatient rehab had been found to particularly effective (but not exclusive) for those with severe or long-standing addictions. If you are struggling to make it through withdrawal, achieve or maintain sobriety, or simply stick with an addiction treatment program through its completion, inpatient is a stellar option.
Residential drug rehab programs provide a space for uninterrupted recovery that provides a structured and multi-disciplinary approach to recovery. Inpatient can not only help addicts with getting through the withdrawal stage but instill long-term behavioral changes to manage cravings.
How Long is Inpatient Rehab?
The length of inpatient rehab is determined by the individual. The average of duration of residential treatment is about 14 days but can be up to 30, 60, or 90+ days long. At Amethyst Recovery Center, we pride ourselves on our custom-tailored addiction treatment plans that are created for each patient upon initial intake. After successful completion of an inpatient program, clients can transition to less intensive treatment options such as day/night treatment or pure outpatient.
Our Residential Addiction Program
While at Amethyst Recovery Center for inpatient rehab, clients are presented with a wide array of groups and therapies that will further assist in their early recovery:
These groups discuss the principles of honesty, open-mindedness, and willingness to achieve long term sobriety. It teaches the basics of recovery for every individual to practice in their daily living schedule.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
CBT groups are based on the systematic application of topics that teach group members how to recognize and use these concepts to repair irrational thoughts and restore relational problems; relational problems that result from dysfunctional thought and translate to problematic behavior.
Therapeutic art and music groups are presented so that every individual has a chance to express themselves. These groups consist of trust-building exercises, mental health jeopardy games, and many different art exercises.
These therapeutic and didactic groups teach all about ways to prevent relapse. Relapse prevention groups help increase awareness of personal early warning signs of relapse and to develop coping skills to employ when experiencing high-risk situations and/or cravings.
The objective of these groups is to help individuals develop a program of recovery that is free from violent behavior. Clients learn ways to terminate all behaviors that are dangerous to self or others. Anger management techniques are taught with the intent of helping individuals decrease the frequency of occurrence of angry thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
Addiction education groups are primarily in didactic form and mainly focus on the science of addiction, dual diagnosis, opioid overdose prevention, and mental health disorders.
Psycho-Educational groups teach clients about topics such as bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, and co-occurring disorders. Clients are educated on statistics and facts about these diagnoses, as well as how they manifest as either primary or secondary disorders.
Medical & Nursing Groups
As part of our 24-hour medical staffing procedure, the nursing team leads groups twice per week. Topics of discussion include physical effects of drug use on the body. Hepatitis C, HIV, and STD testing is provided by health department upon request.
